The Spinners (16-24) turned a humid Tuesday night at LeLacheur Park into a tense, back-and-forth battle against the Westfield Starfires (14-24). On a night defined by timely hitting and momentum swings, the Spinners looked to control the pace early, though the Starfires responded with a surge in the middle that brought the contest to a fever pitch.
The Spinners express took to the field as usual, hauling a birthday party aboard as the teams warmed-up.
The tone was set early as the Spinners looked for an advantage against the Westfield pitching staff. Jack Quigley was the catalyst for the offense, drawing a pivotal walk in the first inning before crossing the plate on a sacrifice fly from Nic Lembo.

Quigley wasn’t finished, however; he struck again in the third inning, crushing a solo home run to right-center field to extend the lead and energize the home crowd.
“We tend to score early, and then we kind of settle into the flow of the game, and then next thing you know, it's you know four or five innings go by, we got zeros up there, and then the end of the game comes, and then we are like oh wait we've got to score runs,” said Head Coach Kevin Graber. “Calling attention to it, just helping the guys understand like, hey, just a little bit of a trend that we're experiencing,” said Graber.
The Spinners continued to manufacture runs in the bottom of the fourth with textbook small ball. Lorenzo Camilleri sparked the frame with a double to left field, and after a sacrifice bunt from Brett Gallo, Charlie Beauregard laid down a bunt single.
A heads-up base running play by Beauregard, who stole second and advanced to third on an error, allowed Camilleri to cross the plate, pushing the lead to 3-0.
However, the tide shifted in the top of the sixth inning. The Starfires' offense broke through against the Spinners' bullpen, stringing together hits. Moments later, Westfield had a clutch home run to left field, turning a scoreless deficit into a 4-4 tie.

At the bottom of the seventh inning, Camilleri broke the tie with a single, bringing Lembo home. Quigley also added another run to stretch the scoring gap 6-4.
The Spinners will remain home tomorrow to play the Norwich Sea Unicorns with the first pitch at 7 pm. Internet star and UMass Lowell Lacrosse Alum H00pify will be in attendance, throwing out the first pitch.
