Bobbie Spooligan & The Canaligator
Emerging deep from Lowell's canals, an old legend and a new, mischievous face!
CANALIGATOR
Costumed Mascot | Guardian of the Canals | Agent of Lovable Chaos
Lowell’s resident rascal, protector, and full-time instigator of fun.
With the mischievous energy of a playground prankster and the quick wit of a seasoned play-by-play announcer, Canaligator thrives in that perfect “chaotic good” sweet spot. He’s always up to something — swiping a coach’s cap during warmups, dancing behind an unsuspecting umpire, or shamelessly photobombing every camera in sight — but never in a way that crosses the line. It’s all heart. Always.
In his own tall tale, Canaligator “rose from the Merrimack after drinking too much Moxie,” emerging from Lowell’s historic canals to guard Mill City baseball. Since then, he’s appointed himself Protector of the Canals — and by extension, the Kids Fun Zone, the dugout, and anyone under four feet tall who needs a high-five.
BOBBIE SPOOLIGAN
The Fighting Irish Spinner | Mill City Mischief
Born on the factory floor and raised in the heart of Lowell’s Acre, Bobbie Spooligan is pure Irish grit wrapped in bright red yarn.
With a spool for a crown and fire in his stitched eyes, Bobbie represents the thousands of Irish immigrants who dug Lowell’s canals, powered its mills, and built the backbone of the city that became home to the world-famous Canaligator. He’s part mill worker, part street scrapper, part Southie charm — and all heart.
Don’t let the thread fool you.
Bobbie’s got a chip on his shoulder and pride in his city. He swings a bat like he’s defending the neighborhood and flexes like he’s daring the visiting team to test Mill City toughness.
