Spinners Overpower Bravehearts in Dominant 8-2 Home Victory
By Layla Penn
The Spinners (14-23) turned a quiet Wednesday night at LeLacheur Park into a celebration, securing a commanding 8-2 victory over the Worcester Bravehearts (19-16). On a night when the offense clicked in perfect rhythm, the Spinners proved they were finding their stride at just the right time.
The tone was set early as the Spinners' bats came alive to dismantle the Bravehearts' pitching staff. Nic Lembo sparked the offense, scorching a double to left field that cleared the bases; the clutch hit drove in Quinn Murphy and Zander Bratspis while advancing Cam Biller to third, blowing the game wide open.

The Spinners continued to build their lead in the bottom of the fourth. Biller drove in Brett Gallo, followed by an Esteban Dessurault single to center field that plated Murphy, extending the lead to 7-0. Gallo added another run in the fifth, further stifling any hope of a Bravehearts comeback.
Matt Pappalardo, making his final appearance for the Spinners, was masterful on the mound. He tossed five scoreless innings and recorded seven strikeouts before Zeno Illes took over in the sixth.

“That's what ‘Poppy’ has been doing all season for us, and that was his last outing,” said Head Coach Kevin Graber.
While the Bravehearts managed to rally for two runs in the sixth inning to make the score 8-2, the Spinners’ bullpen remained resilient. Seamus Scott provided a key performance, striking out the side with the bases loaded to preserve the lead.
“I thought Seamus Scott was a standout,” Graber added. “He's had some challenges with his arm health this season, but to have him step away to rehab and come back to pump strikes and put up zeros was absolutely much needed.”
The Spinners will remain at home on Thursday for a double-header against the New Britain Bees, with both contests scheduled for seven innings. The first pitch for game one is set for 5:00 p.m., with the second game slated for 7:00 p.m.
