Lowell Spinners continue to make
National Splash with Yankees Elimination Promotion
Spinners scheduled to appear in Sports Illustrated & on ESPN's "Cold Pizza"
LOWELL,
Massachusetts - The Lowell Spinners, Class A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox,
continue to make national headlines as they try to eliminate Yankee teams among
youth baseball organizations in the region and replace them with Spinners teams.
This Wednesday (February 15) Lowell Spinners General Manager Tim Bawmann and
Spinners Director of Corporate Communications Jon Goode will appear on ESPN's
"Cold Pizza", which airs daily from 10 a.m. - Noon, to talk about the Yankees
Elimination Promotion.
Also, the Spinners and the Yankees Elimination Promotion are scheduled to appear
as the main focus in Steve Rushin's popular Air and Space column featured in
Sports Illustrated. Rushin was recently named National Sportswriter of the Year
by the National Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association. The Sports
Illustrated issue will be available on Wednesday.
To date, the Spinners have been contacted by 27 communities around
Massachusetts, three men's baseball Leagues, including one from Rochester, New
York and one youth bowling league from Beverly, Massachusetts interested in
participating in the promotion.
As part of the promotion the Spinners will replace the Yankee uniforms with
Spinners uniforms and allow the youth Spinners team to play on the field before
a game this summer. The Spinners have also agreed to work with each youth
baseball organization and assist them in their fundraising initiatives.
The promotion has been heard and read about across the country. One reader
recently posted a comment on the Lowell Spinners website stating he had read
about the promotion in Hawaii while attending the NFL's Pro Bowl.
For more information on the Yankees Elimination Promotion please contact Jon
Goode at
jgoode@lowellspinners.com or call 978-805-5106. In exchange for their cooperation the Spinners are
taking on the cost of replacing the uniforms and allowing the youth Spinners
team to play on the field before a game this summer. The Spinners have also
agreed to work with each youth baseball organization and assist them in their
fundraising initiatives.
