Spinners Let the Good Times Roll

The cool weather through Lowell on Wednesday night and cooled off the red hot Spinners as the Brooklyn Cyclones snapped Lowell's six-game winning streak, as the Spinners dropped a 7-0 affair. The Spinners bats were quiet for the first time in weeks, recording just three hits, led by TD Banknorth Player of the Game Ronald Bermudez. Bermudez finished the night 2-for-4, but the Spinners struggled to muster much more offense against the Cyclones pitchers. Some shaky defense felled Spinners pitching to start the game and the Spinners bats were unable to stage a rally. Oneonta however lost again to Staten Island, maintaining Lowell's 3.5 game lead. The Spinners look to bounce back Thursday evening when Bryan Price (0-1, 1.62) takes the mound for Politically Incorrect Night, with Clay Buchholz "No-Hitter" Bobble Head Giveaway and Budweiser Clydesdales in the house. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
