FAQs

What level of baseball will the new Lowell Spinners be playing, and are you still affiliated with MLB?

The Futures League is independent of Major League Baseball’s Minor League system, but the level of play is comparable to what fans saw from the former Spinners in the New York–Penn League. Top-tier college baseball talent is on par with Short-Season Single-A pros — often the same players you’d see before and after the MLB Draft.

When does the team officially return, and what will the schedule and number of games look like?

The Futures League plays roughly 60 games — 30 at home — from Memorial Day through early August, followed immediately by the League playoffs and championship.

How do season ticket deposits work, and when will fans be able to select specific seats?

Your season ticket deposit secures your place in line for seat selection. Each deposit equals one seat. So, if you are looking to secure multiple seats, please purchase multiple deposits. When our ticketing system goes live in the coming weeks, we’ll contact you to choose your seats and complete your purchase.

Will there be mini plans, single-game tickets, group packages, and family ticket options?

Yes, we expect a very similar ticket lineup as the Spinners used in previous years.

What is the status of past season ticket holders from the previous ownership who never received refunds?

We completely understand your frustration regarding 2020 ticket refunds. Unfortunately, the former Spinners ownership declared bankruptcy in 2022, and those liabilities remain with that bankruptcy proceeding. The new ownership group has no affiliation or financial connection to the previous franchise and cannot issue refunds from prior seasons.

We truly appreciate your longtime support and hope to earn it again as we begin this new chapter for baseball in Lowell.

What is happening with LeLacheur Park, and will there be stadium renovations or upgrades?

Yes. LeLacheur Park is undergoing extensive renovations needed to return the ballpark to full operating capacity. We’re also re-activating the former Gator Pit and exploring similar fan areas along the right-field concourse. Additional upgrades are slated for 2027, which could not be accommodated before UMass Lowell begins America East Conference play in February.

Are classic traditions returning, such as theme nights, fireworks, kids-on-the-field opportunities, and bobbleheads?

Yes, we are staffing to resume all of the most popular promotions – and more.

Will Canaligator or any former mascots or characters be returning?

We plan to unveil our full complement of mascots and characters at Opening Day – a mixture of old and new based on a refresh of fan-first entertainment as it has evolved since the original days of Spinnertainment.

Why was the Spinners name kept, and why was the logo updated?

Restoring the Spinners name was the clear and natural choice — it connects us to something far bigger than the game itself. It pays tribute to Lowell’s textile heritage and reflects the grit, hard work, and community spirit that built this city and continues to inspire our players, partners, and fans alike.

Lowell lost its Red Sox affiliation during MLB’s 2020 Minor League contraction, which forced a complete rebrand. In rebuilding the franchise, we’ve worked hard to preserve fan favorites — the Spinners’ bobbin icon, sleeveless home jerseys, and the 1800s-inspired LOWELL, SPINNERS, and MILL CITY wordmarks — while introducing modern elements like powder-blue ‘City Connect’ alternates.

How can local businesses get involved for sponsorships, group outings, advertising, or concession partnerships?

We see the Spinners and LeLacheur Park as a true hometown hub for Greater Lowell and the Merrimack Valley. Corporate partners — through sponsorships, group outings, advertising, and concessions — play a major role in bringing that vision to life. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and X; we’ll be opening Sales in the weeks following Thanksgiving.

In the meantime, reach out to partners@lowellspinners.com with inquiries.

Will you be hiring front office staff, interns, or gameday employees, and when will applications open?

Yes — all of the above. Our immediate priority is filling a small number of full-time roles to support what is largely a seasonal operation. As we approach May, we’ll also be hiring a significant number of interns and gameday staff. Follow us on LinkedIn for upcoming job postings.

How can players, coaches, local teams, or performers inquire about opportunities with the Spinners?

If you’d like to volunteer in any capacity, please email us at info@lowellspinners.com. We appreciate your patience — the response has been overwhelming, and we’re currently focused on long-lead priorities. We’ll work through all inquiries in the months ahead.
