Lowell Spinners Idol/National Anthem Tryouts 2008

Have you ever wanted the opportunity to perform in front of a large audience? Ever dreamt of stepping foot on the hallowed ground at Fenway Park? Well now is your chance Spinners fans! The Lowell Spinners will be holding open auditions for their pre-game national anthem performances including the chance to perform in front of 35,000+ fans as the Spinners take on the Hudson Valley Renegades on August 9th at Fenway Park in Boston during the third annual Futures at Fenway. One lucky fan will win this opportunity as well as the following:

  • YOUR CHANCE TO SING AT FENWAY PARK!
    • Grand Prize Winner:
      1. Sings the National Anthem before the Spinners Futures at Fenway game at Fenway Park on Saturday, August 9th.
      2. Sings the National Anthem before the Spinners Opening Night game on Tuesday, June 17th.
      3. Free studio time to record a demo tape with Mike Caputo and Lü Balz's company, MusicBall Entertainment in Boston.

Spinners Idol participants can audition at one (not both) of the following events:

  • Wednesday, May 7 at 6 p.m. -- Skybox Restaurant in Tewksbury
  • Thursday, May 15 at 6 p.m. -- Skybox Restaurant in Tewksbury

The special guest judges for this year's Spinners Idol events will be Rachel Crawford from MusicWorks in Tewksbury and Mike Caputo and Lü Balz from MusicBall Entertainment in Boston.

Rachel Crawford holds a B.M. in Music Education from UMass-Lowell. She is working towards M.M.Ed. at U-Mass Lowell. She is currently a vocalist of the Mill City Jazz Quartet and has performed with the U-Mass Choirs. Rachel has been teaching since 1998 and has a great ear for talent.

Mike Caputo and Lü Balz from MusicBall Entertainment in Boston have created, helped develop and contributed to the success of some major musical artists, including LFO, JoJo, Rachel Loy and Boys Like Girls. They’re also working with Gone 'Til November, a young up and coming group about to burst onto the scene featuring 19-year-old Aimee Proal, whose first public appearance was singing the National Anthem for the Lowell Spinners. Mike and Lü are currently involved with Mega-producer Howard Benson (Daughtry, All-American Rejects and My Chemical Romance) and their newest band, The Invite. Mike and Lü love the recording studio and never turn down anyone looking to get their music out there.
